There are four different types of earthquakes, which are tectonic, volcanic, collapsing, and explosion. There are also different types of tectonics boundaries that form different types of earthquakes. There is the divergent boundary, convergent boundary, and the transformer boundary. A boundary is when a tectonic plate expands. When the plates are moving towards each other it is called a convergent. When it is moving away from each other it is called a divergent. And when they are moving past each other, it is called a transformer boundary. A fault is a crack in the Earth’s crust. Often, faults form the boundaries between tectonic plates, causing earthquakes. Earthquakes are formed when rocks underground suddenly breaks along a fault.
The Richter scale is used to measure the magnitude of an earthquake, which is the amount energy released. The machine was invented by Charles Richter in the 1930.
